Our kids are a part of the Big Story of God.
City Church invites children to develop their own ongoing and authentic relationship with Jesus and we value each child individually as full spiritual beings. We especially want to lead children into experiencing God through the narrative of Scripture, worship, and community in order to discover their place in God’s grand story.

Kindergarten thru 5th Grade Curriculum:
Gospel Basics for Kids by Brad Watson
We’ve chosen this particular curriculum because it engages children’s understanding of the gospel, belief in the gospel, and living the gospel in their daily lives. The purpose is not only to teach kids the gospel but to do so in a way that enables them to both apply it to their own lives and to teach it to others. We want to see kids living out their identities as missionaries, family, servants, and learners.
Middle School Curriculum:
Sticky Faith Everyday
This curriculum, based on years of research, focuses on the spiritual practices that best connect kids’ hearts with God’s. It invites students to create new, or deepen, faith rhythms and re-imagine and re-engage spiritual practices to notice God more every day, long beyond the series itself. The aim is to build a foundation of practicing their faith so that it sticks with them for a lifetime.

CURIOSITY ABOUT GOD
You are free to ask questions because you belong here.
Hi, My name is Geneva Olson, wife to Mark and mother to Kera, Macie, Linnea, and Elise. I am originally from California and moved to Sioux Falls in July 2007. I have a Political Science degree from University of Nevada, Las Vegas and I enjoy reading, drawing, volleyball, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. I thoroughly enjoy working with kids and have spent time working as a Direct Support Professional in the residence halls at LifeScape, in addition to many years volunteering in children’s ministry roles.
I am passionate about creating an environment where our children and volunteers are valued, empowered, and encouraged every week. My dream for City Kids is that every child would encounter Jesus, understand the gospel’s transformative power, develop a steadfast faith and knowledge of the Word, and be fully integrated into the body of Christ. I am thrilled to work alongside the rest of the City Church congregation in assisting our kids in living out the gospel and being a light in Sioux Falls and the world.
