City Kids

Our kids are a part of the Big Story of God.

City Kids' vision is
for all the kids in Sioux Falls
the love and presence

City Church invites children to develop their own ongoing and authentic relationship with Jesus and we value each child individually as full spiritual beings. We especially want to lead children into experiencing God through the narrative of Scripture, worship, and community in order to discover their place in God’s grand story.

Kindergarten thru 5th Grade Curriculum:

Life With God for Children by Lacy Finn Borgo

We’ve chosen this curriculum because of its emphasis on building a relationship with God while giving children the tools and opportunities to explore the scriptures themselves. We want to disciple and empower our children to grow in knowledge and relationship with God simultaneously and this curriculum allows us to do so.

Geneva Olson

City Kids Director

Hi, My name is Geneva Olson, wife to Mark and mother to Kera, Macie, Linnea, and Elise. I am originally from California and moved to Sioux Falls in July 2007. I have a Political Science degree from University of Nevada, Las Vegas and I enjoy reading, drawing, volleyball, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. I thoroughly enjoy working with kids and have spent time working as a Direct Support Professional in the residence halls at LifeScape, in addition to many years volunteering in children’s ministry roles.

I am passionate about creating an environment where our children and volunteers are valued, empowered, and encouraged every week. My dream for City Kids is that every child would encounter Jesus, understand the gospel’s transformative power, develop a steadfast faith and knowledge of the Word, and be fully integrated into the body of Christ. I am thrilled to work alongside the rest of the City Church congregation in assisting our kids in living out the gospel and being a light in Sioux Falls and the world.
